As you can see, there is not currently an abundance of evidence for probiotics in Crohn’s Disease. Note that we must be careful when prescribing probiotics in disease states and take a strain specific approach to ensure safety.

    • 1 gram/day, 12 months with meds showed a significant reduction in stool frequency and improvements in Crohn’s Disease Activity Index (CDAI) score
    • Reduced relapse rate compared to drug only group (6% vs 38%)
