About Gut Love

GutLove is a prebiotic fiber that can help relieve both constipation and diarrhea symptoms.

It returns the stool to a normal state and promotes a healthy digestive balance without the excessive gas and bloating that’s common with other fibers.

SunFiber® (PHGG), the primary ingredient in GutLove, also increases beneficial bacteria and short-chain fatty acids in the gut, relieving abdominal pain and regulating digestive patterns in those with IBD.

The PHGG in GutLove can also help improve bloating and gas with no negative side effects, and it’s tolerated by even the most digestively sensitive people.

What Are Prebiotics, and Why Are They Important?

Prebiotics are fibers and starches that pass through the digestive tract undigested by us, to be digested by our helpful gut bacteria.

These gut bacteria reward us by creating short chain fatty acids like butyrate that act as a food source to our colon’s cells.

Butyrate also helps reduce inflammation, support immune regulation, and improve the gut barrier function.

PRObiotics, by contrast, are bacteria that are beneficial to their hosts (that’s us!). Unlike PREbiotics, probiotics are temporary visitors and do not continue to encourage the growth of our own helpful gut microbes.

How to Take GutLove

GutLove is tasteless and mixes well into tea or coffee. You can also use GutLove in baked goods or smoothies.

GutLove contains one of the most well tolerated prebiotic fibers, so irritation symptoms like gas and bloating are much less common. As with any fiber, we recommend starting with a small dose and building tolerance over time.

What the Research Says About the Fiber in GutLove

Safe and Effective in Promoting Gut Health

Human and animal studies have proven that PHGG, the fiber in GutLove, is safe and effective in promoting gut health. PHGG is useful for both constipation and diarrhea symptoms, and is safe for adults and children.

GutLove’s fiber remains liquid in the intestines instead of creating a gel, making it useful for a wide variety of applications. It is also easy to mix into tea or coffee without changing or compromising the taste of the beverage.

Promotes Colonic Mucosal Healing in Mice with Induced Colitis

PHGG promotes colonic mucosal healing in mice with induced colitis, indicating that PHGG might be used therapeutically for mucosal damage in those with IBD.

Effective for Normalizing Both Constipation and Diarrhea, As Well As Alleviating IBS Symptoms

Regular intake of PHGG is effective for normalizing both constipation and diarrhea, as well as alleviating IBS symptoms. PHGG promotes digestive health and offers a synergistic benefit when combined with probiotics.

Induces Beneficial Changes of Intestinal Microbial Composition

PHGG induces beneficial changes of intestinal microbial composition, and PHGG supplementation could be one way to mitigate IBD-associated changes of the microbiome.

Can Improve Stool Form By Regulating Intestinal Microbiota

Repeatedly consuming PHGG can improve stool form by regulating intestinal microbiota. This study showed that intake of the PHGG for 3 months significantly improved stool form, evaluated using BSS, and had no effects on stool frequency. Comprehensive fecal microbiome analysis detected significant changes in the ratio of some bacteria, such as an increase of Bifidobacterium (p < 0.05) in the PHGG group.

Effective in Reducing Constipation and Diarrhea

PHGG has shown to be effective in both reducing constipation and diarrhea in certain populations as well as increasing Bifidobacterium in the gut. “The ease of use of PHGG and its clinical effectiveness make it a good choice in clinical nutrition practice.”

Shown To Be Effective in Increasing Beneficial Bacteria and SCFAs in the Gut

Several animal studies have shown PHGG to be effective in increasing beneficial bacteria and SCFAs in the gut. Stool consistency and abdominal pain were also alleviated in human studies, making PHGG a promising therapeutic for IBD.

Decreases Symptoms of Both Constipation- and Diarrhea-Predominant Forms of IBS

PHGG decreases symptoms of both constipation-predominant and diarrhea-predominant forms of IBS by increasing colonic contents of SCFAs Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria. This fiber also decreases abdominal pain.

Improved Bloating and Gas

PHGG improved bloating and gas with no negative side effects in those with IBS symptoms.
